The EarthSpoke Guarantee
Our dahlia tubers are carefully inspected by our team before shipment, and we guarantee each tuber will have at least one viable eye (or bud where the plant will sprout) and are in good condition for immediate planting. Please be aware that when your tubers arrive, they may still be dormant and will need some time for the eye to become more noticeable.
Please inspect your tuber delivery immediately upon receipt. If you have any concerns about the viability of a dahlia tuber purchased from us, please contact us by email as promptly as possible with a picture of the tuber in question and a description of your concern. If you contact us within seven days of receipt of your order, and we determine your tuber is defective, we will honor our guarantee by providing a replacement tuber. If we do not have a replacement tuber in that cultivar, we will offer you the option of substituting tuber from another cultivar or a refund for the defective tuber. If you do not contact us within seven days with a photo, we cannot honor the guarantee with a replacement product or a refund but would still want to know your concerns and attempt to assist.
Quality Assurance
We describe every dahlia as accurately as possible, including color, size, and cultivar. We will send you the exact dahlia cultivar you order, but you should know that variations in color can happen depending on your growing environment (like sun exposure, the acidity of your soil, and other factors).
We go to great lengths to ensure the high quality of our tubers and routinely monitor our tubers over the winter to maintain ideal temperature and humidity levels. In the event of a crop failure, we will make every effort to fulfill your order. If we are unable to do so, we will notify you before shipment and offer a full refund or a substitution.
Dahlia Viruses
We take the health of our dahlia crops very seriously and are deeply committed to minimizing the risk of virus transmission. We employ a number of quality-control practices designed to reduce exposure and support overall plant health. For example, we regularly sanitize snips while harvesting dahlia stems, use organic methods to manage pests and other potential disease vectors, closely monitor the condition of each plant, conduct random virus testing, and remove any plants that test positive. All tools are sanitized during tuber division and storage as well.
You may have seen that we host U-Pick events at our farm. Rest assured that participants in those events are excluded from our dahlia fields. To ensure consistent execution of our harvesting protocols, only our trained harvesters are permitted to pick our dahlia stems.
Supporting Dahlia Hybridizers
At EarthSpoke Farms, we believe in the importance of compensating the talented hybridizers who create the stunning dahlias we offer. The cultivars we sell are brought to the community through the hard work of hybridizers, and, where we have arrangements in place, a portion of the price you pay for these tubers goes directly to them as royalties. This ensures hybridizers are fairly rewarded for their efforts, while encouraging them to continue developing new and exciting cultivars for us all to enjoy.
If you plan to sell any cultivars purchased from us, we encourage you to enter into similar royalty arrangements with the applicable hybridizer. Additionally, if you are a hybridizer and do not yet have a royalty agreement with EarthSpoke Farms, we invite you to reach out to us at info@earthspokefarms.com
California Nursery License
We are fully licensed to sell nursery stock by the California Department of Food and Agriculture.
Product Inventories & Order Processing
Placing tubers and other items in your cart does not reserve product until you have fully processed and paid for your order. Certain dahlia cultivars are in great demand, and we may sell out of inventory before or during the checkout process.
Shipping
To protect your tuber purchase, we encourage you to select a shipment date suitable for your climate to avoid the risk of a winter freeze. The options are mid March, mid April, or early May.
Payment must be received in full before the order is processed and shipped. Shipping dates are approximate and may be affected by weather conditions. We are not responsible for delays caused by unforeseen circumstances, such as extreme weather events.
We ship our tubers using the US Postal Service. Most orders will take up to three days to deliver.
Unfortunately, we are unable to ship tubers outside of the United States.
