Visit us for
U-Pick Flower Field Days
You are invited to come to our 10-acre farm on the Mendocino Coast to harvest flowers for your very own bouquet. Stroll through our cut-flower field to gather snapdragons, zinnias and other beautiful blossoms, all with the smell of the sweet sea breeze and the serenade of seals barking in the distance. While you're on the farm, we encourage you to walk through our two dozen rows of 4,500 dahlia plants, stroll by our pumpkins and winter squash that are ripening for our late-September harvest, or hike up the hill a bit to catch a peak of the ocean. And, of course, bring your camera for your very own photo op!
We have several U-Pick events planned this year where you can enjoy the farm, and we're so excited to have you join us to share the wonder of creation as you pick fresh flowers on our farm. We can barely wait to see you follow your inspiration to create a beautiful bouquet!
Here's a simple guide on how it all works:
- $50 Per U-Picker: Tickets for our U-Pick events are $50, which give you entry to the farm to pick from our annual field and the opportunity to walk through our dahlia field and enjoy the beauty. That price includes a dozen U-Pick stems and a half dozen dahlia stems (which we will have harvested prior to your arrival). You may pick additional blooms for $1.25 per stem and add more dahlias to your bouquet for $2.00 per stem. If someone in your party does not want to pick flowers, it is $10 per person for non-pickers, and children under five do not need a ticket.
- Pre-Book Your Tickets Online: To ensure everyone has a wonderful on-farm experience and to maintain an enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere, we've capped entry numbers. Please pre-book your ticket(s) online in advance. Walk-ins will be welcomed if we have room.
- On the Day of the Event: When you arrive, you will be ushered to designated parking spots. From there, follow the signs to our check-in area, where we'll provide you with flower snips and a bucket of fresh water to use during your visit.
- Short Demo on Harvesting: Our farm team will give you a brief demonstration on how to harvest our flowers. We're hoping this will help you get the most out of your picking experience while maintaining the quality of our flower fields.
- Finished Product: When you have arranged your bouquet, our team will help wrap your flowers in paper, or we have a variety of vases available for purchase.
We hope you have a fantastic time at our farm and enjoy picking your own fresh flowers. If you have any questions or need assistance during your visit, feel free to ask anyone on our farm team—we're here to help make your experience memorable!

FAQs
Even though we rarely get above 70 degrees in the summer, the direct sun can be hot! Be prepared with layers. In the sun, a short sleeve shirt and jeans is perfect. But if an afternoon fog rolls in, it will be chilly and you'll want that sweatshirt. And, with the terrain on the farm, you'll want closed-toe shoes. It is definitely not the day for flip-flops or sandals!
The farm is no place for children to roam unsupervised. Children must be close by an adult at all times, staying on paths (and off of our flower beds!) and away from farm equipment. This will ensure the child's safety and help others enjoy the farm as well.
Our farm is a full-time functioning farm with many potential hazards, including uneven terrain, potential tripping hazards, farm equipment, and natural obstacles. Be careful as you walk, especially with snips (keep them pointed to the ground). And stay clear of our farm equipment! Visitors participate in u-pick activities and tour the farm at their own risk. The farm is not liable for any injuries, accidents, or losses that may occur during your visit. By entering the farm premises, visitors agree to waive any claims against the farm and its owners.
Bees are an essential part of the farm’s ecosystem and contribute to pollination. As a regenerative farm, we take steps to encourage populations of native bees and other pollinators, and we also maintain our own beehives up the hill from where our U-Pick field is located. Generally speaking, the bees keep to themselves (we have only had one or two bee stings in the last three years. If you or anyone in your party is allergic to bee stings, please come prepared with any medications (e.g., epinephrine) as a precautionary measure.Wearing long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes can help minimize the risk of bee stings.
You will have full access to our U-Pick field, which contains a variety of annual flowers and greenery, but unfortunately our dahlia field is not open for U-Picks. We have strict harvesting protocols to keep our dahlias healthy and virus free (see our dahlia policies). Feel free to walk our dahlia fields, but please do not harvest any dahlias. We will have a large selection of dahlias already harvested for you to choose from.
We do not offer refunds for cancellations. However, if you are unable to attend, you may transfer your reservation to another individual.
Our U-pick sessions operate rain or shine, except in cases of severe weather conditions that may endanger visitors or the condition of our flower fields. In the event of severe weather, the farm reserves the right to close or suspend operations temporarily for safety reasons.
Our flower rows are spaced too close together for wheelchair access. If you or someone in your party has specific accessibility needs, please contact us in advance to discuss accommodations.
Absolutely! Personal photography for non-commercial use is permitted. Feel free to take photos in the u-pick field and in our dahlia fields, and please tag @earthspokefarms in your social media posts!
We do, however, charge for commercial or professional photography. We ask that you make prior arrangements in advance for any commercial or professional photography sessions.
To ensure everyone has a wonderful experience and to maintain an enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere, we've capped entry numbers. Pre-order your ticket to reserve your spot. Walk-ins will be welcomed if we have room!
